We may not be much help with picking things out for your friends and family, be we can offer some suggestions on what to get your cat! Read on as a Tampa, FL vet lists some great holiday gifts for Fluffy.
Beds
Cats certainly do love their beauty rest. Fluffy can sleep up to 20 hours a day, though most kitties average about 14. Even if your pet already has a bed of her own, she’ll likely be thrilled to find herself with even more napping spots.
Toys
Toys make purrfect gifts for our feline friends! You can go with a classic kitty toy, like a catnip mouse or a wand toy, or opt for something more modern, like a remote controlled mouse or automated laser pointer.
Treats
Treats are a good way to brighten up Fluffy’s day and get that little motor going. Canned tuna, chicken, or salmon in water is fine. Fluffy can also have shredded deli meat, sodium-free broth, or cat milk, which you can find in most pet stores.
Purrniture
Cats aren’t very shy about getting comfortable on our beds, chairs, and sofas. However, Fluffy will really appreciate having some things she doesn’t have to share. Get your furball a comfy cat tower, or kitty tent or tipi.
Scratching Posts
Scratching is a deep-seated instinctive behavior for cats, and one that is crucial to their survival in the wild. Help Fluffy keep up with her nail-care regimen by getting her a good scratching post. Choose something sturdy, that won’t wobble.
Catio
Do you have an enclosed porch or patio? Turn it into a catio by adding kitty furniture, toys, and pet-safe plants. This will give Fluffy a chance to get some sunshine and fresh air, and the stimulation of being outdoors, while keeping her safe from weather, predators, and other hazards. Cat Grass
Put soil and cat grass seeds in a shallow storage tote or a clean litterbox. Let the seeds grow for a few weeks. Fluffy will heave her own little patch of ‘lawn’ where she can sunbathe and look adorable.
